Change language

Your Chromebook uses the language you chose when you first set up your device. To change your language:

  1. Click your account photo.
  2. Click Settings Settings and then Advanced.
  3. In the "Languages and input" section, click Language.
  4. Find the language you want to use.
  5. Optional: If you don't see the language you want, click Add languages. Click the language you want, then click Add.
  6. Next to the language you want, click More More.
  7. Choose how you want to use this language:
    • Show menus in this language: Click Display Google Chrome OS in this language, then click Restart. The next time you sign in, menus will show in the language you chose.
    • Show webpages in this language: Click Move up until the language is at the top of the list. If you'd like Google Chrome to automatically translate webpages, click Offer to translate pages in this language.

Note: Not every language works with your Chromebook's menus. 

Change spell check language

  1. Click your account photo.
  2. Click Settings Settings and then Advanced.
  3. In the "Languages and input" section, click Spell check.
  4. Choose the languages you want to use for spell check.

Remove a language

  1. Click Settings Settings and then Advanced.
  2. In the "Languages and input" section, click Language.
  3. Next to the language you want to remove, click More More and then Delete Remove.
