Connect your Chromebook to a monitor
You can connect your Chromebook to a monitor or TV
with a HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, or VGA port. Sometimes you need an
adapter cable to do this. To learn what type of cable you need, check
the instructions included with your Chromebook.
Connect to a monitor
First, plug the monitor into the appropriate port on your Chromebook:
- Find the display output and input ports on your Chromebook. (If
you’re not sure which ports to use, refer to the instructions included
with your Chromebook.)
- Use these two ports to find the correct adapter (ex. DisplayPort to HDMI).
- Plug the adapter into the monitor, then into your Chromebook.
Adjust, rotate, or align your screen
To change how the screen looks on your monitor:
- Click your account photo.
- Click Settings
.
- In the "Device" section, click Displays.
From here, you can:
- Change resolution: In the "Resolution" section, choose the screen resolution you prefer.
- Rotate the image: In the "Orientation" section, choose an option.
- Center your screen: In the "TV alignment" section, click Adjust, then press the Shift and arrow keys until your screen is aligned.
- Mirror your screen: Press Ctrl + Full screen

Calibrate your touchscreen monitor
If you’re using a touchscreen monitor with your Chromebook, you can make sure it’s working by calibrating it:
- Click your account photo.
- Click Settings
.
- In the "Device" section, click Displays.
- Click the touchscreen monitor you want to calibrate.
- Click Calibrate.
- Your Chromebook will ask you to tap the corners of your touchscreen. Follow the steps as they appear.
