Get traffic & commute information

With Google Home, you can always get to work on time by hearing information about your commute, traffic conditions, and your estimated time of arrival.

Step 1: Manage your commute settings

You must set the following locations in the Google Home app Google Home app to hear relevant commute information:

  1. Set work and home location.
  2. Set Google Home device address 

Step 2: Ask for traffic information

Here are some ways to talk with your Google Assistant on Google Home about commute conditions, traffic, estimated time of arrival, and more.

Important: You must be specific with your query to hear the correct traffic information.

  • “Hey Google, how long is my commute?” - Google Home will share traffic from your Google Home device address  to your home or work address.

Troubleshooting

  1. Make sure you've set your home and work locations either in the Google Home app Google Home app or in Google Maps. Note: This can’t be done using your voice.
  2. Make sure you've set your Google Home device address.
